Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Analisis Wacana Kritis (Critical Discourse Analysis), studi ini menganalisis karya-karya utama Asad, termasuk The Message of the Qur'an hingga The Principles of State and Government in Islam, serta membandingkannya dengan tafsir-tafsir lain dan pemikiran tokoh seperti Fazlur Rahman dan Amina Wadud.
