Abstrak

Propolis adalah substansi seperti lem yang dibentuk oleh lebah madu dari resin tumbuhan yang mempunyai kemampuan sebagai antimikrobia dan antiviral, selain itu juga berfungsi sebagai anti-inflamasi, antimalaria, hepatoprotektif dengan aktivitas biologis melawan tumor, antikanker dan menstimulus sistem imun dengan meningkatkan perlekatan serta kemotaksis dari limfosit. Ekstraksi dilakukan secara maserasi dengan pelarut etanol. Dilakukan uji sitotoksisitas ekstrak etanol terhadap sel kanker MCF-7 dengan menggunakan metode merah netral. Ekstrak propolis yang berasal dari daerah Batang memiliki nilai IC50 sebesar 36.72 µg/ml, lebih kuat dibandingkan dengan daerah Lawang sebesar 68.70 µg/ml dan Sukabumi sebersar 71.82 µg/ml dan hasil tersebut tidak berbeda makna dibandingkan dengan kontrol positif (Zederone dan siklofosfamid).
